GeoThermal Heat Pump

Today was an exciting day on site: (3) wells (approximately four inches in diameter) were drilled approximately 200 feet deep. Two high-density polyethylene pipes were installed in each of the holes and are connected at the bottom with a U-bend to form a loop. The vertical loops will be connected with a horizontal pipe (via a manifold), will be placed in trenches, connected to the heat pump in the basement and filled with an environmentally friendly antifreeze/water solution that acts as a heat exchanger.

Ranch Style Redux Residence ground source heat pump system will take advantage of the steady state temperature of the earth for heating and cooling. In winter heat is extracted from the earth and delivered to the house. In summer heat is removed from the house and absorbed by the earth. Through the heat pump system the earth’s stored energy is accessed with minimal energy expenditure.

Waterproofing

Cold-applied, water-based, liquid waterproofing membrane. No VOC Content (produces no harmful odors).

CMU Foundation Walls

Due to the plastic covers that the crew installed a few months back, the bad rainy weather didn't stop the construction.  Hidden below the covers, the CMU Foundation Walls are almost complete.

Interior

It's hard to see now, but this will be an open space Living Room, Dining room, Foyer and Kitchen.

Existing & New

The new crawl space areas will be connected with the existing ones for easy access. See attached image of new opening below the Future Master Bedroom.
